Spaced Out Radio 26/11 - Back Up Bolognese

I should have posted this set five months ago, when it was recorded - but I didn't. Did the suspense keep you riveted at the edge of your seat? No, perhaps not. But hopefully I can "rivet you in your seat" while listening to this mix!

The set is from Spaced Out Radio - Thorian Maxwell's thunderchild on WMUA Friday nights. It was recorded in September of 2011 and features mainly Italo disco. We start with bit of banter, criticizing another radio personality's classification of electronic music as "bloodless". But do not worry, when Harry Thumann kicks in, you know we have put the pedal to the metal, so to speak.

Enjoy the set - it's a good one.

  1. 18 min into your latest mix... do I hear a track that was sampled in the Portlandia theme? Identify!

  2. Yes, you do! The track is by Luis Romano Peris Belmonte AKA Gary Low. The track is called "I want You", and it's been sampled several times by the likes of Miss Kitten and the Hacker, and Washed Out. I believe the Washed out track is used as the theme for the TV program Portlandia. Gary Low also had another hit with the track "La Collegiala", which might be familiar to you.

Here is a link to the track in ALAC lossless format (you can open it with itunes): http://www.mediafire.com/?i3039xa938xor0k

    It's a GREAT track. Enjoy!
